A poster presentation competition titled ‘Efficiency Pioneers: Time Study Challenge’ was organized by the IPE Club of the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET).
The day-long competition was inaugurated on Wednesday (09 July) by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak, who also visited the student presentations during the event. The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Head of the IPE Department.
RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak said, “Such events play a supportive role in fostering innovative thinking and a research-oriented learning environment among students.”
Explaining the purpose of the competition, the Head of the Department stated, “Some companies are already testing these student presentations. Using this technology developed by students, companies can produce more goods in less time.”
Participating students expressed that such events are very effective in developing their skills.
Students from the IPE Department participated in the competition in 12 groups, each consisting of six students from the 21, 23, and 24 series. Each group identified a real-life production line problem, developed a solution-based prototype, and presented their findings.
The event featured multi-phase evaluations focusing on time management, production efficiency, and analytical thinking. It was expressed with optimism that such initiatives will continue in the future to enhance students’ innovative abilities and problem-solving skills.
